Warning not to consume breaded line in vinegar (scopecia)
Quebec, May 31, 2013 – MAPAQ, in collaboration with the Division of Food Inspection of the City of Montreal and the company 9136-8696 Québec inc. doing business under the name Multi-Meat Distribution, located at 8063 Andre Ampere Avenue, Montreal, is warning the public not to consume raie panée dans le vinaigre (scopecia) sold by the company, as it has not been not been prepared to ensure safety .
The product that is the subject of this warning was sold, unrefrigerated, until May 29, 2013 inclusive only to the designated facility above. It was packaged for sale in plastic containers of 1 liter format and has no inscription on the packaging.
The company is voluntarily recalling the product and has agreed with MAPAQ and the Division of Food Inspection of the City of Montreal to broadcast this warning as a precaution. It should be noted that no cases of illness associated with the consumption of this food has not been reported so far. People who have this product in their possession are advised not to eat it and return it to the institution where they bought it. Even if the product does not show evidence of tampering or strange odor, its use may pose a risk to health.
