Quebec, May 8, 2013 – MAPAQ, in collaboration with the Division of Food Inspection of the City of Montreal and Les Viandes Nada Import-Export Inc., located at 4629 Boulevard des Grandes-Prairies in Montreal, are warning the public not to consume chicken salami this business produced because the food may contain metal particles and may pose a risk to health.
The product has been sold in 350 gram packages in some schools in the Montreal region and carries on its label: “LES VIANDES NADA”. This notice is for all units of chicken salami with an expiry time (“best before”), from 1 July 2013 to 3 August 2013 inclusive.
The company is voluntarily recalling the product and has agreed with MAPAQ to disseminate this warning as a precaution. It should be noted that no cases of illness associated with the consumption of this food has been reported to date to MAPAQ.
People who have this product in their possession should not consume it. They must either return to the institution where they bought it or throw it away.
