Notice not to consume the ready to eat sausage ardelenesc
Quebec, December 21, 2012 – The MAPAQ, in collaboration with Charcuterie Transilvania located at 806 Boulevard Curé-Labelle in Laval , is warning the public not to consume the product described below and manufactured by the company because it may contain Salmonella .

The product that is the subject of this warning was sold only at the designated facility above. The company is voluntarily recalling the product. They have agreed with MAPAQ to disseminate this warning as a precaution. It should be noted that no cases of illness associated with the consumption of this food have been reported to date.
People who have this product in their possession are advised not to consume it. They must either return it to the institution where they bought it or throw it away. Even if the product does not show evidence of tampering or smell spoiled, microbiological analysis revealed the presence of Salmonella. Consumption of food contaminated with this bacteria may cause salmonellosis, a foodborne illness. In young children, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems, salmonellosis may cause serious infections, sometimes fatal. In healthy people, salmonellosis may be manifested by short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal pain or diarrhea.
