Warning not to eat meats company Butchery Amsellem
Quebec, October 12, 2012 – MAPAQ, in collaboration with the Division of Food Inspection Agency of the City of Montreal and the company operating under the name Butchery Amsellem , established at 5450 Westminster Avenue, Montreal (Côte-Saint-Luc) is warning the public not to consume the products described below and manufactured by this company because they may contain the bacteria Listeria monocytogenes .

This recall involves all units of the products were sold in variable weight formats, setting mentioned above.
People who have any of these products in their possession are advised not to consume it. They must either return it to the institution where they bought it or throw it away. The company is voluntarily recalling these products. They have agreed with MAPAQ and the Division of Food Inspection Agency of the City of Montreal to broadcast this warning as a precaution. On the other hand, it should be noted that no cases of illness associated with the consumption of these foods have been reported to date MAPAQ.
Even if the products do not show signs of tampering or smell spoiled, microbiological analysis revealed the presence of Listeria monocytogenes. Consumption of food contaminated with this bacteria may cause listeriosis, a foodborne illness that can cause high fever, severe headache, neck stiffness and nausea. Pregnant women and their unborn children, the elderly, children and people with weakened immune systems are considered the most vulnerable.
